Milk Education are recruiting for a teacher of small groups (4-6 students) for an independent school in Gainsborough who cater for students aged 7-18 who's primary need is social, emotional and mental health. The students can at times, display disregulated and sometimes physical behaviours so the school are looking for individuals with resilience and a calming temperament. This class in particular has children with cognitive learning needs and includes autism, downssyndrome and medical needs and they are accessing the early years curriculum. This role would be suitable from both primary trained or early years teachers as there are classes of different abilities available. This is a permenant role, subject to a twelve week probation through Milk Education and the working hours at 8:45am - 4:15pm Monday to Friday. The role is paid to scale M1-UPS3 from day one.

Role & Responsibilities:

● Promote inclusion and acceptance of all students

● Teach pupils consistently whilst responding to their individual needs

● Work with small groups of children or on a one to one basis to help them understand how to regulate their behaviour

● Work as part of a team who share an empathy for students with special educational needs

● Must have recent/relevant experience working with children and young people, specifically those with Special Needs OR experience in a transferable industry; to include but not exclusive to: policing, armed forces, care, performing, sporting or the UK justice system

● A minimum degree level qualification (ideally holding QTS) with 6 months of teaching experience
