SEMH Support Worker – Chorley
Start Date: After the October Half Term
Contract: Sabbatical Cover (Full-Time, Term-Time Only)

We are seeking a dedicated SEMH Support Worker to join our team in Chorley to provide tailored support for pupils with a range of social, emotional, and mental health needs. This position will begin after the November half term and is to cover a sabbatical.

The role involves working with children and young people who may experience:

Anxiety and depression

ADHD

Autism

Other associated SEMH needs

Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils, helping them access learning.

Assist in managing behaviours and promoting positive emotional wellbeing.

Work collaboratively with teaching staff and external professionals to provide consistent support.

Help create a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for all learners.

The ideal candidate will:

Have experience supporting children or young people with SEMH and/or SEN needs.

Be patient, resilient, and adaptable in approach.

Be able to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.

Have a genuine passion for supporting mental health and wellbeing in education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
