Description

Purchasing / Construction Buyer required for a construction business in North Yorkshire.

As a Buyer / Purchasing Manager you will be self-disciplined and self-motivated with the energy to drive your own success.
You will be setting up and procuring materials and components for the construction sector, managing a small team, and with multi site management this will be an exciting challenge for you, giving you a good free range to build the supply chain and the purchasing team.

To be successful you will be able to negotiate, influence and communicate with others at all levels.

* Implement and manage a Supply Chain Management System
* Improve upon the supplier database in order to deliver best value to the business and in turn their customers.
* Lead project procurement execution from cradle to grave.
* Deliver the best all round solution considering quality, price, and delivery to our customers
* Help with the co-ordination and analysis of tenders and assisting with the production of commercial bid summaries.
* Demonstrate proven ability to create and implement negotiation strategies / techniques and lead negotiations.
* Assess suppliers and their performance to ensure continual improvement of quality.
* Collaborate with the operational business to identify new and manage existing suppliers.
* Maintain detailed information relating to vendors, market conditions, performance and risk.
* Incorporate sustainability as a core theme of our vendor relationships and agreements.

Skills / Qualifications
* Significant procurement experience in a construction related industry (ideally timber related).
* To have experience in tender / work winning procurement & bid writing would be an advantage.
* Demonstrable commercial knowledge and a thorough understanding of procurement processes particularly in construction environment.
* Strong co-ordination, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
* Excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to present data in a clearly and concisely to both internal & external stakeholders.
* Flexible approach and ability to work under well pressure with a can-do attitude.

Depending upon your experience a salary of Circa £38k plus additional benefits awaits, This salarry will grow as the position grows. This is a supportive business which is growing rapidly.
