We are looking for a compassionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team. You will play a key role in helping children with special educational needs (SEN) thrive academically, socially, and emotionally within our inclusive school community.

Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Contract Type: Full-time
Salary: £13.75 - £14.50 per hour

Key Responsibilities

-          Provide one-to-one or small group support for pupils with a range of special educational needs.

-          Work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to implement tailored learning plans.

-          Assist pupils with classroom activities, helping them to develop confidence and independence.

-          Support pupils with personal care and/or mobility needs where required.

-          Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.

-          Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents/carers.

About You

We are seeking someone who is:

-          Passionate about supporting children with additional needs.

-          Patient, empathetic, and resilient.

-          Able to build strong, positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.

-          Flexible and adaptable to meet individual pupil needs.

-          A team player with excellent communication skills.

Experience of working with children with SEN (such as autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or physical disabilities) is desirable, but full training will be provided for the right candidate.

Qualifications & Requirements

-          GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.

-          Relevant experience working in an educational or care setting preferred.

-          A willingness to undertake further training and professional development.

-          Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
