Description

We are currently recruiting for a workshop plant engineer for a depot in Letchworth for a leading plant hire company in the UK who provide top-of-the-range, premium-condition excavators for hire. The company operates a fleet of advanced Hitachi excavators, all under 12 months old, ranging from 3 to 35 tons, ensuring maximum versatility for various projects. The ideal candidate will come with relevant qualifications in the plant industry and a past work experience working on a variety of heavy plant including excavators.

Workshop Plant Engineer - Letchworth Job Overview

Carry out regular maintenance, servicing, and repairs on a range of plant equipment.
Identify and fix faults while ensuring all machinery meets required safety standards.
Perform inspections and maintain detailed records of completed work.
Work independently or collaboratively to complete tasks efficiently.
Follow all Health & Safety guidelines, maintaining safe working practices at all times.

Workshop Plant Engineer - Letchworth Job Requirements

Relevant qualifications in the plant industry; NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent would be advantageous
Proven experience in plant machinery maintenance and repairs.
Full, valid UK driving licence.
CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) would be advantageous but not essential
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Commutable distance to the depot based in Letchworth
Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage time effectively.

Workshop Plant Engineer - Letchworth Salary & Benefits

£38,000-£42,000 basic salary dependant on experience.
Monday-Friday 45-hour week.
Overtime available.
Pension
28 days holiday inclusive of bank holidays.
