GMP Recruitment are proud to be in partnership with a well-known local company based in Ledbury, Herefordshire, who are specialists in innovative product development. We are currently recruiting on their behalf for a Product Development Team Lead to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.

This position offers a salary of up to 56K, dependent on experience, plus pension and bonus.

As a Product Development Team Lead, you will be responsible for leading and managing the Product Development team while driving the full cycle of product design, prototyping, testing, and implementation. You will use customer and market insights to guide product decisions, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Product Development Team Lead main duties:

* Lead and manage the Product Development team, overseeing performance, resource planning, and alignment with business goals.

* Drive continuous improvement, talent development, and effective team collaboration.

* Lead full-cycle product development from concept to delivery, using data and customer feedback to validate design decisions.

* Gather and analyse feedback from distributors and end users to identify design improvements and new opportunities.

* Use performance, usage, and market data to guide engineering solutions and measure impact

* Manage bespoke product requests, ensuring regulatory compliance and timely delivery.

* Monitor emerging technologies and competitor activity to maintain a competitive edge.

Product Development Team Lead required skills and experience:

* Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

* 5+ years’ experience in product development or engineering support (strong less-experienced candidates with the right mindset will be considered).

* Proven ability to lead/Manage a team or take ownership of projects from concept to completion.

* Experience with 3D CAD, ideally Autodesk Inventor.

* Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office; MRP/ERP experience is a plus.

* Confident in preparing clear, concise technical documentation.
