General Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Heysham)
Start Date: 1st December 2025
Contract: Full-time, ongoing. £13.75 - £14.50 per hour
Location: Heysham

Teaching Personnel are recruiting for a full-time General Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Heysham. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and flexible individual to support learning across Key Stage 1, starting from 1st December 2025.

The school is seeking someone who is proactive, adaptable, and passionate about helping children to achieve their best. You will be working closely with class teachers to support whole-class learning, deliver small group interventions, and provide additional support where needed.

The role will involve:

Supporting teaching and learning across KS1.

Working with children in small groups and on a 1:1 basis.

Assisting teachers with classroom organisation and lesson delivery.

Helping to create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.

Being flexible in supporting different classes and year groups as required.

The ideal candidate will:

Have experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school.

Be confident supporting pupils across KS1.

Show strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Be able to adapt quickly to meet the needs of the school.

Hold a relevant qualification or equivalent school-based experience.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
