Job Title: Procurement Manager (Packaging/ FMCG)

Location: South Lanarkshire

Employment Type: Full-time

Salary: Up to £60,000 DOE

Overview

Alexander Steele are partnering with a successful FMCG business who are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to join their team. This role is responsible for sourcing and procuring packaging and related materials, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with business needs. The position requires a strong commercial mindset, supplier management skills, and the ability to drive sustainable and innovative packaging solutions.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop and deliver procurement strategies for packaging and materials.

* Manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and monitor performance.

* Ensure best value through cost analysis, benchmarking, and supplier evaluation.

* Support production, NPD, and other departments by securing materials on time.

* Forecast material requirements and prevent shortages or delays.

* Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure compliance with regulations.

* Contribute to sustainability and innovation initiatives within packaging.

Candidate Profile

* 3+ years’ experience in packaging procurement, preferably within FMCG or manufacturing.

* Strong negotiation, communication, and supplier management skills.

* Knowledge of packaging materials, regulations, and industry trends.

* Commercially and analytically minded, with proven cost-saving achievements.

* Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Office.

* Strong team player with the ability to influence and collaborate across functions
