Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Special Needs Schools, Wickford

Are you a qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding new role?
Protocol Education is working with specialist SEN schools in Wickford and we are seeking passionate, skilled HLTAs to join their dedicated teams.

About the role:
As a HLTA, you’ll be making a real impact in the classroom by:

Leading small group and 1:1 sessions.
Covering whole-class learning in the absence of a teacher.
Delivering pre-planned lessons and adapting activities to meet pupils’ needs.
Supporting children with autism (ASD), social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), communication difficulties and complex learning needs.
Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and support staff to ensure every child is given the best opportunity to succeed.
Essential requirements:

HLTA status or equivalent qualification is required.
Previous experience supporting teaching and learning across whole classes.
A solid understanding of SEN strategies and inclusive practice.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
A patient, resilient and positive approach.
Desirable:

Additional training in behaviour management, Team Teach, or SEND-specific courses.
Experience in specialist or mainstream SEN provisions.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
