Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

* Location: Burntwood, Staffordshire

* Salary: £34,612 + Performance-Related Bonus (post-probation)

* Holidays: 25 days + 8 statutory bank holidays

About the Role

Taylor Blackwood Associates are recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a leading manufacturing plant. This is a fast-paced environment where you will play a key role in minimising downtime, ensuring machinery runs at optimum performance, and maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Working as part of the maintenance department, you’ll carry out both planned and reactive maintenance, troubleshoot and repair faults, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

* Perform planned and preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment.

* Diagnose and repair faults, responding quickly to breakdowns to minimise downtime.

* Support the installation and commissioning of new equipment.

* Identify and source replacement or new parts as required.

* Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.

* Adhere to company processes, health & safety standards, and environmental policies.

* Prioritise tasks effectively in coordination with supervisors.

* Manage and oversee external contractors, ensuring compliance with site standards.

* Participate in continuous improvement activities.

* Maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.

About You

Essential:

* Time-served apprenticeship in an engineering discipline.

* Formal engineering qualification (e.g. ONC or equivalent).

* Working knowledge of both mechanical and some electrical engineering.

* Strong problem-solving ability.

* Good written and verbal communication skills.

* Ability to work independently or within a team.

Desirable:

* Forklift Truck Licence.

* MEWP certification.

* Welding and fabrication experience.

* Awareness of health & safety legislation.
