Quality Assurance Assistant

📍 Nelson, Lancashire - easily commutable from Burnley, Colne, Accrington, Blackburn, Darwen, Preston, Clitheroe, Skipton and surrounding areas
💰 Starting from £15.97 per hour + excellent benefits
⏰ 48 hours per week - 6am-6pm Days / 6pm-6am Nights (2-week rolling shift pattern)

Our client is seeking a proactive Quality Assurance Assistant to join their fast-paced manufacturing operation. This is a hands-on role, supporting the highest standards of product and packaging quality while driving continuous improvement across the site.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor quality standards on-site, ensuring consistency and sharing best practice.
Work with the technical team to maintain traceability, HACCP/TACCP/VACCP systems and compliance with industry standards.
Develop and maintain finished product specifications and raw material checks.
Support audits with customers, suppliers and external bodies.
Carry out internal audits (e.g., hygiene, pest control, glass and plastics).
Provide quality-focused training across departments to support continuous improvement.
React quickly and professionally to potential issues to minimise customer complaints or audit non-conformances.
Ensure site submissions to external labs are completed accurately and on time.About You

Previous QA/QC or technical experience in an FMCG environment is essential.
Strong knowledge of quality systems and processes, ideally with exposure to BRCGS, ISO 9001 and customer standards.
Confident in supporting audits and engaging with external stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in Root Cause Analysis and Statistical Process Control.
Effective communicator with excellent influencing and coaching skills.
IT literate with good knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Qualification in Quality or 3-5 years' relevant experience preferred.What's on Offer
