Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

Shift Times: 09:00 to 17:30

Working days: Monday to Friday

We are currently recruiting for an Employment Tribunal Claims Manager / Employment Lawyer to join our passionate and driven Legal team in Bury St Edmunds on a permanent basis!

Job Responsibilities:

Take a lead role (under supervision from the Employment Counsel) in respect of the management of contentious employment law matters and work closely with the HR team to draft and prepare all related documentation needed in connection with the Employment Tribunal process.
Monitor and improve HR processes, practices and documentation in relation to Employment Tribunal claim and claim management.
Oversee the Employment Tribunal caseload for the UK and Ireland (with input from HR and other internal team members as appropriate, ), tracking key dates and maintaining internal records in relation to the same.
Preparation of tribunal bundles and drafting of tribunal documentation.
Attend tribunal hearings and, where appropriate, represent the business at case management preliminary hearings.
Liaise with external legal advisors insofar as the same is used in relation to Employment Tribunal claims.
Preparation of internal reports to provide management with visibility of Employment Tribunal activity. 

What we are looking for from you:

Good knowledge of the Employment Tribunal claims process and proven experience in managing employment claims; strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work independently whilst being a valuable member of a wider team; ability to a solution and problem-solve; good organisational skills; proactive team player; ability to run multiple matters and prioritise as appropriate. 
A qualified lawyer with at least two years of PQE experience practising employment law is desirable but not a requirement. Would consider applicants from an HR background with considerable experience in managing ET claims.
