Opportunity for a Factory Manager

Location: On Site – Newquay
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Role Overview

We are seeking a Factory Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a manufacturing site. This pivotal leadership role will involve coordinating production, focusing on people, performance, and process. Your mission will be to foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement, ensuring production aligns with customer demand. You will be responsible for driving output, quality, and compliance, ensuring that all processes support our values and adhere to relevant legislation.

We are looking for a hands-on leader who can motivate and nurture a newly formed team while ensuring production efficiency and integrity.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead and manage daily factory operations from a single site.

* Directly oversee staff, supporting skills development, motivation, and performance.

* Create and manage flexible production schedules in response to rapidly changing demand.

* Maintain quality control across all product lines and processes.

* Oversee the use of bespoke production software and Microsoft-based systems.

* Collaborate with internal departments (design, finance, logistics) and external suppliers.

* Ensure all operations and outputs align with our values and meet evolving legislation.

* Champion a safe, clean, and compliant working environment in line with Health & Safety regulations.

* Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to optimise workflow and reduce waste.

* Track and report on key operational metrics (productivity, downtime, output, waste).

* Be involved in the recruitment, onboarding, and training of factory staff as required.

* Liaise with the production team to facilitate new product development.

Person Specification

* Proven experience managing a production team within a manufacturing setting.

* Strong team-building and mentoring skills; able to lead by example and develop staff potential.

* High level of adaptability to shifting production requirements and timelines.

* Good understanding of manufacturing software and the ability to work with custom systems (training provided).

* Knowledge of our values or experience in a purpose-led business is highly desirable.

* Practical understanding of compliance, legislation, and health & safety in a factory setting.

* Experience with scaling production is helpful, but not essential.

* Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methods is a bonus.

Working Hours

Standard working hours are 9 am – 5 pm Monday to Thursday and 8 am – 4 pm on Fridays, with flexibility required during high-demand periods
