We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic General Teaching Assistant to join our team. This is a rewarding role where you will play a vital part in supporting teaching and learning across the school, helping to create a positive and engaging environment for all pupils.

Job Title: General Teaching Assistant (Full-Time)
Location: Colne
Contract Type: Full-Time, Term Time Only
Start Date: Monday 3rd November 2025
Salary: £13.75 - £14.50 per hour

Key Responsibilities

-          Work under the direction of the class teacher to support learning activities.

-          Provide targeted support to individuals and small groups of children.

-          Assist in the preparation of learning materials and classroom resources.

-          Support the social, emotional, and behavioural development of pupils.

-          Help to maintain a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment.

-          Supervise pupils during break and lunch times when required.

-          Contribute to the wider life of the school community.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

-          Caring, patient, and committed to supporting children’s development.

-          Able to work effectively as part of a team.

-          Flexible, proactive, and willing to take initiative.

-          Enthusiastic about education and passionate about making a difference.

-          Ideally experienced in working with children in a school setting (although training will be provided).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
