Techniche Global are supporting a leading plastic injection moulding manufacturer, to appoint a Design and Development Engineer to support all new tooling projects, technical support for the tool room and modification quotes.
Salary:               £40-45k
Location:            Alconbury, Cambridgeshire- 100% onsite
Duration:           perm, full-time (8 am- 5 pm; Mon- Fri; 1 hr lunch break)
Requirements: LRTW

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure all duties are performed in a safe and efficient manner within the parameters of current Health and Safety Legislation (HASAW Act 1974)
Provide support to the Tool room in relation to tooling queries
To develop GAs from China and other sources to ensure compliance with Company standards and requirements.
To work closely with the Chinese toolmakers working on behalf of the Company to ensure robust and effective tool designs are achieved.
To develop customers 3d models ready for tooling by marking up files and where needed re modelling.
To support customer conference calls and meetings to develop product and tool files.
Attend relevant internal and external meetings in respect of current and future work (Inc Worldwide)
Attending tool trials in China / UK and at other overseas locations when required. (not compulsory)
Advising the Design Departments (internal and external) of optimum tooling requirements.
Carrying out assessments on mould flow analysis on new and existing components to help develop process.
To provide quotations from modification files from customers.
To manage external tooling work providing relevant information.
Undertake any other duties as necessary to fulfil the needs of the job and its objectives as and when requested by the Head of Engineering
