Sous Chef – Daytime Hours Only
Location: Hassocks, West Sussex
Salary: £13.40 per hour | 40 hours per week
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

Are you an experienced Sous Chef looking for a better work-life balance without compromising on your passion for fresh, quality food? We are recruiting for a dedicated Sous Chef to join the team at our large, newly refurbished restaurant in Hassocks. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a fresh food-focused kitchen, working in a supportive and professional environment – with no evening shifts required.

About the Role:
As Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Kitchen Manager to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen. You’ll play a key role in preparing high-quality dishes using fresh ingredients, managing kitchen operations, and supporting junior team members. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a busy kitchen, enjoys leading by example, and is committed to delivering consistently excellent food.

What We’re Looking For:

Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong experience as a Chef de Partie ready to step up

Passion for cooking with fresh, quality ingredients

*

Strong organisational and leadership skills

*

Ability to work collaboratively with the Kitchen Manager and wider team

*

A proactive attitude and excellent kitchen hygiene standards

*

A valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle – due to our location, this is essential
