Job Title: Area Sales Manager – Construction Plant & Tool Hire

Industry Sector: Small Plant Hire, Mixers, Saws, Trench Rammers, Construction, Plant Hire companies, Civil Engineering Contractors, Landscaping Contractors, Groundcare Contractors, End Users, Machinery, Main Contractors, Housebuilder Developers, Recycling/ Waste Contractors

Areas to be covered:

1. North East & Yorkshire

2. East Midlands postcodes DE, ST, LE, NG (and B for 6 months maternity cover)

Remuneration: Up to £42,000 Neg. + 10% Bonus

Benefits: Fully expensed Hybrid Car or Car Allowance & Full Benefits

The role of the Area Sales Manager – Construction Plant & Tool Hire will involve:

* Field sales role, selling a distributed range of construction plant & tool hire, predominantly small plant such as mixers, saws, trench rammers etc. (huge portfolio) also selling battery operated power tools and groundcare etc.

* 80% construction plant sales, 20% groundcare equipment into end users such as construction contraction contractors, civils contractors, groundworkers, commercial landscaping etc.

* Promoting household brands such as; Husqvarna, Honda, Dewalt, Stihl etc.

* Circa £2.5m ledger for each area

* Responsible for approx. 100+ plant hire customers on patch, each with an average turnover of £10,000, but can be £50,000+

* Technical role, need to understand mechanics, tools, battery operated tools and machinery etc.

* Multiple customer sites visits daily

The ideal applicant will be an Area Sales Manager – Construction Plant & Tool Hire with:

* 2-3 years proven track record of construction field sales success

* New business hunter, tonnes of get up and go!

* Construction hire industry experience preferred

* Open to plant hire, tool hire, groundcare hire cvilis and commercial landscaping products

* Will also consider builders merchant experience, either having worked for or sold into merchants and distributors as well as other plant hire companies

* Preferable some formal sales training

* Mechanically minded

* Looking for a career move and longevity

* Specific knowledge of mixers, saws, trench rammers etc. is not essential

* Contacts within plant hire companies may be useful

* Physically fit
