Art Technician looking for a new opportunity to kick off in 2020?

We are looking for an art technician to join our established client in the education sector, in what will initially be a part time role on a permanent basis.

This role will support the excellent delivery of art and design across the School by providing technical support and helping to ensure that the learning environment is a safe and inspiring place to learn. We require an independent character able to use their initiative and keen to apply their knowledge of art processes and materials in practical ways.

The successful candidate will be someone with high standards, a critical eye and excellent motivation. Art and Design is a strong department in the school with a healthy uptake at both GCSE and A Level. The department has two large Senior school workspaces, a sixth form studio, and a purpose built art room.

The department offers an exciting and varied curriculum from Years 3 to 13 and pupils are exposed to many different techniques and processes. Pupils also enjoy working with visiting artists and going on trips to support their learning outside of the classroom.

Who are we looking for?

1. Be able to work independently, organising their time effectively.

2. Support the development of the art curriculum through the preparation of teaching materials as required to ensure effective support for teaching staff

3. Seek opportunities for his/her professional development

4. Be able to work flexibly

5. Support the art departments in both the Senior and Preparatory Schools.

6. Ideally have a background in art and design or related industries, with some specialist knowledge of art materials and processes.

7. Possess or be willing to develop an ability to provide technical support to pupils alongside the teaching team

Experience & Qualifications:

* Qualifications in an art specialism, ideally to degree level

* Experience of working in an educational setting

* A good understanding of ICT, literacy and numeracy

* An excellent communicator with pupils and staff

* You will be an enthusiastic and committed team player with a well organised and flexible approach

* A creative soul able to make design decisions
