What youll be doing...

The Verizon Response Team (VRT) is responsible for developing strategies that leverage Verizon Response assets, capabilities, and crisis support to strengthen Verizons position with Public Sector agencies and strategic business customers. The team builds partnerships internally and externally to defend and grow our public safety customer base and positively impact our communities. Through a differentiated customer engagement model, the team delivers customer support throughout disaster planning, response, recovery, and prevention to drive deeper relationships, support revenue growth initiatives, and reinforce Verizons commitment to public safety.

As Director of the VRT, you will be responsible for elevating the teams impact, increasing customer engagement to drive a differentiated value proposition that unlocks growth opportunities, strengthens customer relationships, and delivers greater societal impact. You will develop strategies that leverage the VRT assets, capabilities, and crisis support to elevate engagement levels at Federal, State, County, Major City, Emergency Management Agencies, and with strategic customers to defend and grow business for the Verizon Business Group. You will engage at the executive level within customers and agencies to strengthen relationships and assist the sales teams on key initiatives to defend & grow accounts, drive incremental revenue, and elevate customer engagement.

You will represent Verizon in community engagements with high-level officials to build relationships that remove obstacles for sales engagement, enable more effective crisis response efforts, build proactive community engagement to assist in site acquisition efforts, and establish partnerships for end to end Public Safety and Transportation solution engagement. You will lead preparedness and prevention work in partnership with sales, Verizon customers and industry advocates to strengthen Verizons role in public safety. Build and execute strategy to elevate Verizons industry perception, including the use of strategic joint trainings, response readiness customer engagements, post event Emergency Management engagement, customer awareness meetings, and disaster response improvement plan co-creation.

In addition, you will be responsible for developing internal and external strategies to assist the adoption of Public Safety solutions, promote Verizons Public Safety strategy, and build an advocacy coalition through effective customer engagement. Leverage relationships established through the VRT engagement to promote adoption of cellular technology for critical communication and create new revenue opportunities for the Verizon sales teams.

What were looking for...

- Bachelors or Masters degree in a related field, or equivalent experience

- 10 or more years of experience in emergency management coordination and/or Public Safety experience

- 3-5 years of experience within a law enforcement, emergency management or similar agency

- 7 or more years of experience in a leadership role

- In depth knowledge of concepts of emergency management and applicability to Public Safety and critical infrastructure verticals

- Strategic communications experience and/or formal media training, and a demonstrated ability to identify, analyze and evaluate a large volume of information and to communicate effectively to a Public Safety audience
