Job Description Summary



As a member of the Sanctions Compliance management team, this role is responsible for managing the execution, coordination, and oversight of the Sanctions Compliance advisory sub-function to influence and guide enterprise Business line and Corporate Functions (e.g. Operations, Risk, IT, HR, Legal) compliance with OFAC/Sanctions-related policies, procedures, laws, regulations, and regulatory guidance.



Essential Job Functions



- Provides a leadership role in managing the Banks corporate-level OFAC/Sanctions Policy and corresponding OFAC/Sanctions Principles, Standards, and Guidance (PSG), under the direction of the Head of Sanctions and in coordination with BNPP partners; includes managing one direct report.

- Liaise closely with partners in the First Line of Defense (1LOD) (e.g. Business Controls & Governance, Relationship Management, Branch Operations) and Corporate Functions (e.g. End to End Operations, KYC Operations, Legal, Risk, IT, HR) to review, challenge, validate, and/or approve procedures and processes for implementation and alignment with the Banks Sanctions Compliance Program.

- Interfaces with Regulatory Relations and Federal and State regulators during annual examinations and periodic updates, ensuring that the Sanctions Compliance Program framework are adequately communicated and remain aligned with the Banks Enterprise Compliance Program and other control functions.

- In coordination with the Head of Sanctions and BNPP Compliance and Legal partners, assess new/changed regulatory and industry developments regarding U.S. and international sanctions laws and regulations, which may affect BOTW business practices and product/service offerings

- Support the review, analysis, and approval of BOTW accounts/relationships that are flagged for potential sanctions exposure, through Know Your Customer processes and investigative case work

- Conduct and participate in OFAC/Sanctions-related risk assessments both from a product-level perspective, as well as annual cycles for local, regional, and global perspectives

- Represent Sanctions Compliance in various BOTW and BNPP governance committees and fora, as appropriate

- Prepares metrics and other high level MIS reporting for Compliance Management; ensures reporting is prepared and submitted timely, in coordination with other Compliance Operations groups.



Other Job Duties



- Engage auditors and independent testers in their respective reviews of Sanctions Compliance activities; support 1LOD and Corporate Function partners in their reviews as appropriate; produce materials and draft management responses to potential findings/issues and recommendations as they arise;

- Support the escalation of OFAC/Sanctions-related matters to BNPP in accordance with established decision processes; also support the Banks escalation to BNPP of Defense & Security and Nuclear sector cases under the global Corporate Social Responsibility framework

- Identifies issues (policy/PSG gaps) and support remediation, issue management tracking, and other reporting to BOTW and BNPP Compliance partners

- As appropriate, support: compliance monitoring activities; development and delivery of targeted training to Business, Compliance, and other partners; development and coordination of communications; records management



Qualifications



Education



- Bachelors Degree Business Administration or related field required; Masters Degree is a plus



Work Experience



- 10 years of actual experience in a large regional or global banking environment, preferably with expertise in one or more of the following areas: compliance risk management (economic sanctions, anti-money laundering, counter terrorist financing), internal audit, banking supervision/regulatory examinations, law enforcement agency/administration, and/or policy/procedure governance

- Requires intermediate-to-advanced knowledge of one or more of the job areas noted above, obtained through the combination of experience in prior roles, advanced education, or industry certifications

- Experience communicating with regulators, auditors, and independent consultants

- Understands basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, escalating, developing solutions, coaching, and process implementation/execution

- Other desired skills/experience: MS SharePoint design/development for document management/sharing, records storage, etc.; MS PowerPoint/Excel for development of presentations

- Qualified candidates must possess a high degree of critical and creative thinking, attention to detail, and excel in written and oral communication (particularly to senior management levels)
