The Role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled History and Politics Teacher who is qualified to teach these subjects up to Key Stage 5. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated educator to inspire a deep appreciation for history and politics in our students.

Key Responsibilities:

* Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and thought-provoking lessons in History and Politics.

* Use a variety of teaching methods to cater to diverse learning needs and foster critical thinking and debate.

* Assess and monitor student progress, using data to adapt teaching strategies and support individual achievement.

* Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental initiatives and curriculum planning.

* Participate actively in staff meetings and collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and historical-political learning.

* Organise and oversee subject-related activities, debates, and events that bring learning to life beyond the classroom.

Ideal Candidate:

* Holds a relevant degree and a PGCE (or equivalent), with a strong background in History and/or Politics.

* Exhibits excellent classroom management skills and a passion for teaching History and Politics.

* Adopts a creative and systematic approach to teaching and learning, ensuring clarity and student engagement in lesson delivery.

* Upholds high personal and professional standards, with a commitment to continuous professional development.

* Demonstrates a proven track record in fostering critical analysis and student achievement in the Humanities.

* Communicates effectively with a diverse range of students, parents, and staff.
