Description

An inspiring and inclusive secondary school in Bath is looking to appoint a creative and experienced Food Technology Teacher to join its vibrant Design and Technology department in September 2025. This is a full-time, permanent role that is open to both experienced teachers and capable ECTs.

The school is known for its dedication to student wellbeing and its belief in offering a broad, skills-based curriculum. As a Food Technology Teacher, you will contribute to the development of students’ practical, nutritional, and creative skills, helping them develop confidence and independence in the kitchen.

Key responsibilities as a Food Technology Teacher include:

Delivering engaging Food Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4

*

Teaching students about nutrition, food hygiene, preparation techniques, and sustainability

*

Supporting students in preparing for GCSE coursework and assessments

*

Organising cooking competitions and enrichment events

*

Maintaining a safe, well-resourced kitchen environment

*

Contributing to cross-curricular DT initiatives and curriculum planning

*

Monitoring and reporting on student progress and implementing interventions

The ideal Food Technology Teacher will:

*

Hold a relevant degree in Food Science, Nutrition, or similar and QTS

*

Have experience teaching Food Technology at secondary level

*

Be passionate about food education and healthy living

*

Possess strong organisational and communication skills
