The role of a Transport Planner is to support senior colleagues and planners through providing project support for a wide range of clients and technical work streams. The role requires knowledge of planning and transport with the ability to provide support to technical solutions from inception through to completion.

You will be working in project teams with colleagues from traffic design, engineering and urban realm, developing solutions to our public and private clients transport requirements. Our current and growing workload is focused on several road user charging projects, strategic environmental assessments and travel planning.

A bit about the role:

Provide technical support on projects and advice on complex technical issues.
Ensure all project files are up to date and comply with the QA system
Draft project content based on clear instructions from project managers
Manipulating data from a range of sources
Be part of multi-discipline project teams
Respond to client and customer requests and enquiries and ensuring that their needs are met
To be flexible - carry out any duties as and when required for the good of the companyA bit about you:

Relevant degree or equivalent
A minimum of 3 year’s relevant experience
Membership of a professional institution (e.g. TPS or MCIHT)
Alternative consideration given to relevant experience in lieu of specified education and professional qualification
Good understanding of transport planning, development control, travel planning and demand management, road user charging, public transport planning, smarter travel, active travel and an appreciation of project design and delivery
Good understanding of relevant legislation in planning and transportThe position comes with:
