Description

The role:

To provide high quality advice and guidance to managers on a range of HR issues, in a designated service area

To provide a comprehensive end-to-end customer-focussed recruitment consultancy service to the business, engaging with the service area to develop a greater understanding of their service needs and how these can be best met through the effective use of different contract types, media, and direct sourcing

Be an active member of HR working closely with colleagues to ensure that the HR service operates effectively.

Requirements:

1. People Management

* No direct supervisory responsibility however may be requirement to assist in induction and training of peers and new employees.

2. Resident & Community Contribution

* Demonstrate understanding of the Council’s Customer Care Standards and ensure that these standards are met in order to deliver the Council vision of ‘putting our residents first’.

3. Operational Service Delivery

* Ensure that a seamless HR advisory and Resourcing service is provided to managers in a designated service area, through co-operation and co-ordination with the HR Team Leader

* Provide quality HR advice and support to line managers in relation to, as agreed with the HR Team Leader.

* Take ownership of own case work via the case management system to resolve or escalate as necessary.

* Undertake job evaluations under the appropriate schemes in operation within the council.

Assist managers to comply with the council’s policies and procedures and prepare them for undertaking disciplinary investigations and hearings, ensuring that consistent advice is given at formal hearings
