Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full-time, Long-term (until at least July)
Salary: £90-£105 per day

About the Role: Tradewind Teaching Agency is looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a special needs provision in Leyland and Chorley. This role will involve supporting a small class of children in EYFS to KS5 who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD),PMLD and complex needs. Some personal care aspects will be expected.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about working with young learners with special educational needs and is committed to providing tailored support to help them thrive.

SEN Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and small group support for children with ASD, PMLD and complex needs
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to create and implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies.
Help deliver structured and sensory-based activities to engage and support the learning of students with ASD.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports the children's emotional, social, and academic development.
Monitor student progress and communicate with staff and parents regarding their development.SEN Teaching Assistant Requirements:

Previous experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or in a similar SEN role.
Strong understanding of SEN, particularly in relation to autism and early childhood development.
Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
A proactive and flexible approach to supporting individual student needs.
Relevant qualifications (such as NVQ/CACHE Level 2 in Childcare or SEN) are desirable but not essential.Why work with Tradewind?
