Recruitment Consultant - Perm desk

Salary £25,000 - £30,000 + Commission DOE

Location: Hastings

Full Time & Permanent

Cosmopolitan Recruitment is a professional staffing solution service, offering permanent staffing across multiple industries. With the growth in the company, we are looking for an Experienced 360 Recruitment Consultant, to develop a portfolio of clients and candidates.

The Role:

You will work closely with your manager and will increasingly develop your own client portfolio, take vacancy instructions, and build a candidate portfolio within a chosen industry.

At Cosmopolitan we operate in highly specialised market sectors, and this means that we are looking to build long term relationships with both clients and candidates. You will be tasked with becoming an industry specialist and you will be asked to take ownership of your own clients & candidates. You will be:

Developing business with new and existing clients, building relations, and obtaining vacancies
Researching the current market to find appropriate candidates for live vacancies
Sourcing and interviewing candidates for live roles. Guiding them through shortlisting, feedback, interview preparation and acceptance of roles
Contacting potential candidates via phone, social media, and email to create leads for live vacancies, building a candidate portfolio
Web surfing to identify openings with potential clients
Building and creating a "hot" desk and developing into a "go to" for companies staffing solutions

The Person:

Recruitment rewards effort and input, possibly more than any other office career! What you take out of the role, both in terms of job satisfaction and financial reward is directly related to the effort and work that you put in. There is no cap to what you could earn in this role.

We are therefore looking for someone who enjoys being busy and is always looking for the next opportunity. We spend a lot of time on the phone talking to both Clients and Candidates, so the ability to talk confidently and clearly is important. We use email and social media to connect with people and an ability to use these tools actively is important.

You will be solely responsible for your clients and candidates, managing your day and desk set up. This is far from a 9-5 career; you will be required to speak to candidates and clients when they are available and sometimes this may be outside of office hours.

What will be required:

Strong work ethic including being able and willing to go above and beyond to ensure targets are met.
Persuasive communicator (both written and verbal)
Ability to think clearly in a fast paced and busy environment and able to show initiative
Must be highly motivated and able to work independently
Strong rapport building skills
Previous Recruitment perm experience essential (min 2 years)
Organised and ability to multitask


Salary £25,000 to £30,000.
Generous commission scheme
Yearly bonus based on performance.
Office based: Monday to Friday 8.30 - 5pm.
