Senior Mechanical Engineer

Piper Maddox are working with an Electric Motorcycle business that is quickly making its way to becoming regarded as the go-to Motorcycle company in the EV sector. The business has been operating for just over 4 years and has already established itself as a performance leader within its category and has just begun to deliver its products to customers. Their ambition is to shake up the motorcycle industry with sustainable products outperforming its competitors in both performance and innovation. Whilst their plans are to scale up quickly in the coming years, they are keen to protect and continue their culture and commitment to doing things differently! Currently, the team is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Designer to focus on the Electric Motor design and development across their product range.

What you will be doing:

* Designing Electric Motor Components and creating/applying mechanical design improvements
* Supporting the business in DFM activities and improvements
* Communicate directly with customers and suppliers to outline commercially viable solutions
* Providing deep and expert technical guidance on all mechanical aspects of the Electrical Machine
* Collaborate with wider teams to ensure successful collaboration of systems
* Research and identify new technology solutions for Electric Motor improvements

What we are looking for:

* Strong experience and understanding of the Mechanical Design of Electric Motors (or high-speed rotating machinery)
* Proficient with CAD tools including appropriate GD&T
* Experience with DFM and V&V / Test activities for Electric Motors
* Familiarity working within a highly regulated environment following industry standards
* Excellent communication skills with both expert and non-expert audiences
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent discipline
