Description

Grounds-person. £20,857. Devizes. 37 hours per week 5 days in 7 with weekends on a rota. 32 days paid leave rising to 35 days. Generous pension scheme. Annual pay review
We have an ideal opportunity for a grounds-person or gardener with maintenance skills to join the outdoor spaces department of a local town council. The council prides itself on their gardens and parks, and are keen to recruit an individual who has the same passion for horticulture as the current team. As you would imagine the role offers lots of variety, and no two days will be the same. The gardener and maintenance role includes;
* Maintaining the floral displays throughout the town centre
* Ensuring that all public spaces are weed and litter free
* Mowing and fertilising parks and garden lawns
* Management of the greenhouse propagation schedule for bedding plants
* Maintaining and repairing play equipment across all parks
* Supporting the Christmas lighting display team with installations
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced horticulturalist or gardener, who is able to demonstrate a good level of practical maintenance skills. If you have a passion for garden design, all the better as the role will also involve the design and implementation of the town planting schemes
The role offers a starting salary of £20,857, with a pay review annually based on performance and the current market. 32 days paid annual leave rising to 35 days, and a generous pension scheme.
