ESTIMATOR (FACADES)

Salary £ 34,000 - £ 40,000 per annum (D.O.E.)

This is an amazing opportunity to become the Estimator for our client which is established as a leading provider of technical and architectural façades projects and solutions, solar shading, balconies, and balustrades.

You will not necessarily attend the week round office hours as this is a WFH / Hybrid negotiable position.

Your Main Duties and Responsibilities

Develop credible and accurate bid submissions for tender opportunities in architectural metalwork / façade solutions (modular balconies, architectural screening, solar shading).
Measurement of quantities.
Transparent costing and pricing of company's solutions.
Formatting of bid submission document to consistently portray a professional image to the clients.
Produce a bid document to include all relevant schedules (e.g. attendances, preliminaries etc).
Handover of bid to Operations team upon successful conversion of opportunity to order.
Ascertain client's bid requirements.
Identify and clarify any ambiguities in the documents.
Take measurements and produce bill of quantities.
Prepare and send enquiries to vendors, liaising with procurement where required.
Liaison with Projects team and sub-contract installers to ascertain costings where required.
Develop costing schedules.
Conduct gross margin analyses and develop pricing schedules.
Liaise with Regional Director to ensure that submission deadlines are achieved.
Lead the handover to the Operations team on successful conversion of enquiry to order.
Identify, validate, and present potential cost saving initiatives.
Provide pricing on live projects with a variation requirement where required.

N.B. In addition to the main duties and responsibilities of your job, you may be required to carry out additional tasks as can reasonably be expected.

Your Skills and Qualifications

Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel etc)
Bluebeam.
Microsoft Dynamics.
Ideally an H.N.D/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a Building Services Diploma.
GCSE English and Maths.
Minimum 2 years of experience in a sub-contractor Estimating role; preferably in the preferably in the curtain walling, structural steel, or facades sectors.
Analytical - able to assess information in a variety and formats to derive optimum solutions.
Numerate - capable of working with numbers to estimate quantities and calculate costs.
Innovative - creativity to develop solutions that fulfil the technical and commercial brief.
Technical competence - capability to digest and apply detailed technical information.
Self-motivated to work on your own initiative and to foresee potential problems and solutions.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to deal with colleagues and other stakeholders.

Your Contractual Benefits

25 days per annum (3 or 4 days to be taken at Christmas) + bank holidays

39 hours per week

8:30am - 5.00pm Monday to Thursday

8:30am - 4:00pm Friday.
