We have an exciting opportunity for a House Matron to join our team on a permanent basis. This is a part time role, working 19 hours per week on Mondays, Tuesdays and alternate Saturday mornings during term time with some additional hours during holidays.

The Role

As a House Matron, you will be responsible for the orderly running of the boarding house, including cleaning, laundry, break time preparations and pastoral care.

Working across our houses, you will ensure an excellent standard of cleanliness of the pupils’ bedding and clothing, as well as caring for their general welfare.

You will take daily registers and report absentees to the main office, following up with phone calls to parents if necessary, and help to make pupils feel at home within the house whilst contributing to their pastoral care.

Additionally, you will:

- Supervise the cleaning staff
- Transport boarders to appointments
- Collect the post
- Undertake fire warden duties

About You

To be considered as a House Matron, you will need:

- Previous experience of working with children aged 11-18
- A detail-oriented approach and a strong commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness
- Good timekeeping skills
- The ability to work alone as well as part of a team
- A good sense of humour
- Basic IT skills

Previous supervisory experience would be beneficial to your application, as would a driving license. A basic food hygiene qualification would also be advantageous, as would a first aid qualification.
