Are you experienced within the Estates sector? Do you consider yourself to be analytical, proactive and an asset to a busy team? Are you based in or around Essex?

We have a fixed term Head of Estates role available within Essex Police. This role is ideal for someone with estates management experience within a large organisation and is strategic, a strong communicator and a proven leader.

This role would involve providing advice and direction on strategic management of the Forces estate, on behalf of the Chief Constable. The successful applicant would review procedures, implement change and improve the property management of the Force.

Role: Head of Estates

Location: Essex Police (all sites)

Duration: 6 months initially

Rate: £70,000-£80,000 per annum based on experience

Responsibilities:

Review, monitor and maintain property related matters; disposal of property, maintenance of buildings, use of property resources, Health and Safety and Quality assurance.
Direct and manage all aspects of new builds, refurbishments, upgrades and conversions
Direct, review and implement the environmental strategy within the Force
Prepare, monitor and control budgets within the Estates remit
Direct and manage all property repairs and maintenance
Provide valuations in regards to Estates management
All other related Estates management duties Essential requirements:

Qualified Chartered Architect, Surveyor (RIBA, RICS) or suitable recognised qualification
Working experience related to the qualification above of a minimum of ten years
Public and Private sector estates experience at management level
Exposure to construction, valuation, estate management and property development
Excellent leadership skills with proven experience
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proven track record monitoring budgets
Strong knowledge in regards to Government policy on propertyDesirable requirements:

Driving licence and use of a car
Knowledge of The Police and their internal structure
Prince2 qualification or equivalent (APM, P3M3)Benefits:
