A school in South London is looking for an enthusiastic and passionate SEND TA/ SEND Teaching Assistant with PMLD experience.  

The school has students with various abilities ranging from Moderate Learning Difficulties to complex and profound needs. The post requires a flexible SEND TA / SEND Teaching Assistant who is confident, engaging and dedicated to supporting children with additional needs to join their team of dedicated staff. Previous experience working with students with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties is desirable.

Due to the nature of the children attending the school, the role may require some personal care, feeding and changing as well as activities such as hydrotherapy.

All applicants must be willing to work across the school and ages (Early Years up to Post 16) and have a minimum of 6 months experience working with children with SEND / Special Educational Needs and Disabilities

The school itself has a welcoming, nurturing and happy environment. They have implemented mix curriculum areas that are suitable for the different stages of education, creative approaches and essential life skills.

Communication is key to all they do and underpins their learning approach.

Each class will have a strategy that suits them which includes PECS, Makaton and body signing. Any experience in these areas would be desirable but not mandatory.
