Description

Teaching Personnel are supporting a Pupil Referral Unit in Leyland who are in need of an Outreach Worker to support their pupils with social, emotional and mental health difficulties and may often display challenging behaviours. The school caters for pupils aged 11-16 and aims to create a productive learning environment for all students.

The role will include ensuring a pupil gets to school, support them throughout the school day and then ensuring the pupil travels home safely. The school has an ethos of helping their pupils understand the community that they are in. This will help them to understand respect for others and their community. Your role may include supporting the pupil on community project which helps and supports others in their community.

Key skills include:

an understanding of mental health issues;
good interpersonal skills;
ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally;
capable of maintaining appropriate written records;
awareness of confidentiality;
to be able to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team;
awareness of health and safety issues for others and self;
a caring nature;
be able to follow instructions as part of a planned program of care
To be considered for this role, experience supporting those with ill mental is preferred but not essential.

A full, clean driving licence is essential for this position.

This is a full-time role (37.5 hours per week)

The pay for this role is £10.20 per hour

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
