Tradewind Recruitment is currently working with a forward-thinking and inclusive secondary school in Cheshire East, who are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their team from September 2025. This full-time, term-time only role is ideal for someone with experience supporting students with special educational needs (SEN), or for graduates considering a future career in teaching, educational psychology, or youth work.

The Role:

As a Learning Support Assistant (LSA), you will play a key role in helping students overcome barriers to learning, both inside and outside the classroom. You'll work closely with the SENCo, teachers, and pastoral team to provide tailored support for students with a range of additional needs - including ASD, ADHD, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with identified learning needs

Assist with the delivery of differentiated lessons and classroom activities

Help implement EHCP strategies and behaviour support plans

Encourage students' participation, confidence, and independence

Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff

Support students during break times and transitions between lessons

The Ideal Candidate Will:

Have experience working with young people in an educational or care setting

Be patient, empathetic, and adaptable in a busy school environment

Show a genuine interest in supporting students with SEND

Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills

Be reliable, proactive, and committed to making a positive impact

Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one)
