Job Title: Contracts Surveyor
Location: Hybrid Working

Contract Type: Temporary Assignment
Hours of Work: 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Overview of a Contracts Surveyor
Pertemps have an exciting opportunity within Harrow Council for a self-driven and motivated Contracts Surveyor to join an expanding team.
The role of a Contracts Surveyor offers a competitive pay rate of £ 20.87 per hour increasing in line with Harrow Council Pay Scale increments. Other benefits include, accruing up to 28 days holiday per year (including Bank Holidays) and the opportunity to apply for any internal permanent roles within Harrow Council.

The Main Purpose of a Contracts Surveyor:
" Use initiative to manage complex business / technical issues within the specialist area.
" Identify and immediately deal with situations where service delivery / business risk has been identified
" Apply new and innovative ways of doing things, recognising, and promoting the positive benefit of change to improve services and achieve goals
" Manage staff performance by providing constructive feedback, developing staff to achieve their potential, and taking action where performance falls below the expected standard
" Ensure staff are fully briefed on corporate and directorate developments
" Maintain under constant review operating procedures and processes for all service disciplines to achieve the highest standards of service delivery within stated performance outcomes
" Monitor and ensure performance information, including benchmarking, is analysed, and used as a basis for service improvement.

About you, the successful candidate will have:
" Knowledge of good practice in commissioning and procurement and value for money in matters relating to the delivery of the repairs, maintenance, and voids
" Knowledge of current housing issues at national, regional, and local level particularly those relating to housing investment
" Minimum qualification at HNC/HND level or higher in building surveying
" Evidence of continuing professional development
" Availability to attend out of hours emergencies as and when required
" Ability to manage contractors to maximise performance and improve services for VFM/Quality
" High level communication at all levels to include providing advice to others about proceeding safely to resolve problems
" Excellent report writing and presentation skills
