DFA serves the university as planning partners, problem solvers, and solution providers-striving to make it as easy as possible for people to get the services they need, when they need them. Working closely with campus financial management, the UCI Controllers Office is a trusted strategic partner divided into three core teams: Accounting & Fiscal Services, Procurement Services, and Financial Services. The Accounting & Fiscal Services team ensures the integrity of UCIs financial reporting, enables effective and efficient campus financial processes and controls, manages contracts and grants funding at the post-award stage, and champions compliance with policies, laws, and regulations. The Procurement Services team leads through best practices in the acquisition of quality goods and services by implementing processes and procedures that deliver high quality expertise, significant value, and excellent customer service. Finally, the Financial Services team provides support and resources to campus in the areas of billing, collections, payments, disbursements, loan administration, and student tax information. In all these areas, the Controllers Office is always dedicated to providing effective and efficient customer service in support of UCIs mission and goals. Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of analytical practices, policies, and procedures; research, analyzes and develops solutions to a wide range of procurement policy issues. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Primarily deals with policies, programs and proposals which are complex in nature and diverse in scope. Studies both existing and new legislation and UC policies, ensures obedience to policies, and advises on necessary actions to make sure University complies with all requirements. Contributes in development of new programs, policies or procedures for possible implementation. Assist in various procurement compliance program planning, development, administration, management, and implementation, including training sessions and meetings with various business units; interpret, monitor and analyze federal, state, and local compliance information regarding procurement policies and procedures. Interact with key campus stakeholders regarding information and status of projects to ensure that each project is well coordinated and carried out in a seamless manner. Compensation Range: Commensurate with experience Department Website: Required: 3 - 5 years of project management, policy implementation, and/or administration experience Bachelors degree in related area and / or equivalent experience/training. Knowledge of common organization and other computer application programs. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality. Analytical/problem-solving skills. Strong skills in analyzing, researching, and synthesizing large amounts of data for preparing sound and relevant proposals/analyses. Ability to work independently and oversee multiple projects simultaneously with demanding timeframes. Strong policy analysis techniques. Strong project management skills. Strong expertise with administration functions and duties. Ability to create presentations, effectively present information, and respond to questions from faculty and staff. Preferred: Knowledge of purchasing/procurement function and its operations. Understanding/Knowledge of UC Policies, FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation), and/or CA State PCC (Public Contracts Code). Special Conditions Required: California Drivers License and participation in the DMV pull notice program. Final candidate subject to background check.
