We are excited to be recruiting for an experienced Production Manager to join a UK's leading food manufacturers based in South Yorkshire.

This is a permanent position (with an initial probation period) and the hours will be: 12 hour Day shifts, Thurs to Mon. Due to the dynamic industry and level of position, you will need to have a fully flexible approach. The salary for this position is very competitive and offers bonus potential.

Reporting to the Operations Director, the main objectives of the role of the Production Manager are:

To be responsible and accountable for the weekly performance and cost control of the production operation, in order to ensure as a minimum, costs are maintained or indeed increased with all cost centres.

To improve and contribute to continuous improvement of the defined area of responsibility.


Production Management:

* To ensure planned production targets are met and carry out weekly reviews of all KPI’s, measures, performance.

* To control labour costs within standard

* To manage all raw material and finished product losses within standard.

* To maintain and enforce company procedures: for example: hygiene, H&S and Technical/GMP standards

Health & Safety:

* To follow the company’s and customers health and safety policies and procedures

* To ensure staff responsible to you work to the company’s health and safety policies and procedures: including PPE and ensuring staff are properly equipped and equipment is used correctly.

* To report any accidents / near misses which involve yourself or any members of staff responsible to you.


* To effectively lead and supervise staff under your control

* HR Management including staff reviews/appraisals, disciplinaries & grievances, absence & attendance, holidays all within company guidelines.

* Maintaining records and reports

* To develop your team by delivering training plans, ensuring staff are trained to agreed levels

* To motivate staff and maintain staff morale

Administration & Reporting

* To provide weekly accurate reports and action plans


* To work without supervision in the best interests of the company

* To attend meetings as required

* To attend training courses as directed

* To maintain the highest standards of productivity/quality and hygiene

* To conduct relevant audits

* To ensure a monthly accurate stock take is completed in all areas.


* Must have a minimum of 5 years experience of working in a similar position within the Food Production/Manufacturing industry.

* Strong People & HR Management experience

* Have demonstrable track record in CI

* Experience of managing departmental budgets and cost saving

* Holds all relevant HACCP, GMP, Food Safety & H&S qualifications


* Be target driven and a solid negotiator

* Passionate about CI and Change Management

* Be a strong leader of people - able to steer, develop and motivate

* Flexible, analytical and are passionate about Food
