Aspire People is currently recruiting on behalf of an inclusive and forward-thinking school in Hackney, East London, for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant. Starting in September, this is a full-time opportunity for someone passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of young people with special educational needs.

Whether you're an experienced SEN TA or a graduate with a background in psychology, education, or youth work, this role offers a rewarding pathway into SEND support within a nurturing and supportive school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide tailored support to pupils with a range of special educational needs, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and SEMH
* Work 1:1 or in small groups to deliver targeted interventions, both in and out of the classroom
* Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external specialists to implement EHCPs and support plans
* Encourage positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and social development
* Adapt learning materials and strategies to meet individual needs
* Track and report on pupil progress and wellbeing
* Promote inclusion and help create a safe, respectful, and engaging learning environment

Requirements:

* Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN (in school or another setting)
* A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting learning and behaviour
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* A genuine interest in education and a desire to work with children with additional needs
* Relevant qualifications or training (e.g. CACHE, Level 2/3 TA, psychology degree) are desirable
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
