Architectural Technician / Technologist
Company Details:
A well-established multidisciplinary company consisting of architects and engineers. For over 40 years, this company has dedicated time and effort to craft, design, and implement sound solutions for their clients in both the private and public sector. The company specialises in the areas of fire engineering, building services, architecture, and other sectors. They have recently been successful in securing some impressive projects including a major data centre project just outside of Dublin. The company offers a very positive team environment with great scope for career development.
The Role:
The company is seeking an experienced Architectural Technician/Technologist to join their team. The ideal candidate will be adaptable and competent and have more than 5 years’ experience working across a range of industries and on a diversity of projects, ideally large in scale.
The successful candidate will be brought in as an Architectural Technician/Technologist to work on this large-scale data centre project which is projected to last around 18 months. They have a solid portfolio of work ahead and therefore this role could be offered either as an 18 month contract or a permanent position.
Duties and responsibilities:
* Producing drawings for construction teams on the project from start to finish using AutoCAD and Revit and SketchUp
* Working as part of a multidisciplinary team and making sure that work on site is being constructed in accordance with drawings
* Ensuring proper compliance with statutory legislation, regulations, standards, and good practice.
* Project feasibility studies and reporting back to management
* Advice on planning issues and assisting with advice on energy conservation and fire safety.
* Complying with relevant legislation and regulations on Health and Safety and codes of practice.
Requirements:
* Minimum 4 years post qualification experience.
* Educational qualification in Architectural Technology.
* AutoCAD, REVIT and Sketchup proficiency.
* Strong design and detailing experience with excellent technical and site knowledge.
* Experience working with Irish Building and Planning Regulations.
* Experience of preparing planning, tender and construction details, and documentation.
* Experience working on large scale projects, commercial, industrial, and/or public sector works.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment such as strong teamwork and communication skills.
* Ability to use initiative and have excellent problem-solving abilities.
