Job Title: Complex Needs Teaching Assistant - Secondary PMLD School
📍 Location: Greenwich, South East London
💷 Pay: £100 - £120 per day (depending on experience)
🕒 Hours: Monday to Friday | 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM
🗓️ Job Type: Full-time, Term-Time Only

A nurturing and inclusive secondary PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties) school in Greenwich is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to join their experienced team.

This is a fulfilling role for someone who is passionate about supporting young people with severe learning difficulties, physical disabilities, non-verbal communication, and personal care needs. The school provides a highly specialised environment tailored to students aged 11-19 with profound and complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and group support for students with complex learning, medical and communication needs

Assist with personal care (toileting, changing, feeding) and mobility support (hoisting, wheelchair assistance)

Support delivery of life skills, sensory learning, and independence-focused activities

Build strong, trusting relationships with students and contribute to a calm, positive learning environment

Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and medical staff to ensure individualised care and support plans are followed

Requirements:

Experience working with children or young adults with PMLD, complex needs or physical disabilities

Comfortable providing personal and physical care as part of daily duties

Training in manual handling and/or hoisting is highly desirable (or willingness to be trained)

Empathetic, resilient, and patient approach to working with vulnerable students

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
