Step Teachers have long-standing relationships with many schools and academy trusts across North London. We are currently looking for a Music Teacher for a Head of Department role in a Secondary School in Dagenham. The role is full-time, starting ASAP and while it is initially on a long-term supply basis, the school is looking to make the contract permanent for the right candidate to join their team.

Role:

*

Strong knowledge of the Music curriculum at both GCSE and A-Level

*

Organised and professional maintenance of the classroom and the associated resources

*

Committed to supporting every child to reach their full potential

*

Work effectively with other members of staff, both within the department and throughout the school

*

Ability to assess students, monitor their progress

*

Be able to lead and support the staff within the department

*

Able to plan and deliver engaging and comprehensive lessons

*

Compliance with the schools’ policies and the reliable implementation of these

Requirements:

*

Hold QTS or equivalent qualification for teaching Music in secondary school

*

Have recent mainstream school-based experience teaching Music at the secondary school level

*

A relevant Music related degree is desirable.

*

SEND experience is desirable
