Provides direct psychological counseling, therapy, diagnostic assessment, advisory and interpreting services as part of an Interdisciplinary Team consisting of other professionals planning and rendering treatment for assigned clients. Serve as liaison to Residential Management on clinical matters. Identify and provide training to direct care and professional staff on topics relevant to work performance. Develop behavior modification programs.


Provides direct services to assigned clients in the form of individual and group psychotherapy, cognitive retraining, behavior modification, family therapy, etc.

Conduct diagnostic and functional neuropsychological assessments to support the development of programs to modify behavior.

Develop cognitive rehabilitation programs to improve productive daily activity patterns.

Participate in medication reviews with the program neuropsychiatrist.

Attends and provides leadership for ITC, RSP, and PRC team meetings.

Identify brain injury training needs and provide in-service training to direct care and professional staff.

Provide expertise to employees in understanding the neuropsychological strengths and weaknesses of persons served and their capacities for change.

Conduct neuropsychological evaluations.

Conduct intake evaluations.

Evaluate clients in response to crisis situations, including suicide threats.

Complete all documentation including reports and progress notes as required.

Provides clinical supervision of Neuro-Psychologists/Trainees.

Provides oversight for, and fosters development of the Cog Rehab Section.

Perform other duties as requested.

Job Specific Competencies:

Demonstrates knowledge and practice of the assessment and treatment of the unique needs of person with brain injury.

Demonstrates knowledge of current evidence-based practice and theory in cognitive rehabilitation, and demonstrates skill in applying theory in intervention contexts.

Competent in providing clinical supervision to trainees in assessment and intervention.

Skilled at providing consultation with other team members, and takes initiative to develop interactive relationships across all disciplines in applying a transdisciplinary approach to enhance skill specific and context specific training experiences.

Communicates effectively with persons served, family, funders, other staff, support systems and other stakeholders.

Facilitates active involvement of persons served and their family/support systems in the service delivery process.

Demonstrates skillful oral and written communication skills and leadership skills for Rehabilitation Team Meetings with sensitivity, depth and professionalism.

Demonstrates understanding of, and facilitates developmental/life transitions.

Demonstrates knowledge of community resources and seeks to integrate persons served in participation in roles in the community.

Demonstrates recognition of, and properly reports suspected abuse and neglect.

Demonstrates sensitivity to diversity issues and ensures that the culture of each individual served is understood and respected by each member of the Team.

Sets and maintains professional boundaries.


Doctoral Degree in Psychology required; PA state licensure in psychology required.

Background in neuropsychology and brain/behavior relationships preferred.

Three years experience in cognitive rehabilitation, group and individual therapies.

Experience in Neuropsychological diagnostics preferred.
