School Bursar/Finance Officer - Catholic Primary School

CPSS are currently recruiting on behalf of an Ofsted graded 'Good' Catholic Primary School who are looking for a School Bursar/Finance Officer to join their vibrant and caring team on a full-time basis from September 2022. This position is on a permanent basis and would require someone to be experienced with SIMS and FMS and is based in the central Birmingham area.

Job purpose: Looking for an outstanding school Bursar/Finance Officer with a proven track record using SIMS and FMS.

Job responsibilities:

Raising and processing invoices.
Arranging payments on a timely manner.
Organising and writing reports for governors.
Preparing the school budgets.
Support the SLT with other duties related to HR, recruitment, vetting and absences.
Advising and liaise with the Local Governing Body, Local Authorities and also SLT
Being a port of call for staff, parents and pupils on the telephone and face to face
Supporting school in any procurement requirements
Ensuring that all relevant reports are written and reporting to SLT when necessary.

To be successful for this opportunity, you need:

Proven previous experience of managing or supporting school finances, school administration management and office management.
Experience of working with SIMS and other school databases such as Oracle, FMS, ParentPay, Cash Office or PS Financials.
Have a good working knowledge of policies and practices such as GDPR and Safer Recruitment in schools
Qualifications around finance or business management would be an advantage but are not essential.
