Job Overview: Our client, a successful injection moulding manufacturer, has retained our services to search for an Injection Moulding Setter to join their team.
Overview:
* As an Injection Moulding Setter, you must have several years’ experience with setting, conditioning, maintenance & process optimisation of injection moulding machines working with a wide range of materials.
* Reporting to the Shift Team Leader the role of an Injection Moulding Setter is to be responsible for the safe and effective operation of Mouldshop equipment and the production of moulded components to the required standard.
* The role of an Injection Moulding Setter is to fulfil all aspects of machinery tool changes, from hanging the tool and securing the tool in the machine through to the use of programming software and setting up the robots to provide the optimum cycle time.
Responsibilities:
* Be involved with and responsible for tool changes and setting machines
* Complete supervised tool trials
* To produce goods to our quality standard in the most effective and efficient way
* To understand requirements and follow instruction safely
* Follow Senior Setters guidelines of setting best practice
* Operate an overhead crane to hang tools and pallet trucks to move materials
* Usage and set up of auxiliary equipment
* Safe set up of jigs and fixtures
* Complete training record for each job and job card forms
* Complete setting details and BOM sheets as required at start of job and identify improvement initiatives, eliminating the requirement for return visits from setters
* Perform periodic safety checks of machines and fill in safety sheets
* Keep a clean, tidy and safe working environment (housekeeping)
* Set machines to approved quality standard and achieve minimal reject rates during run
* Set machine tolerances
* Complete new setting sheets and update and store program in machine memory.
* Liaising with other staff as required.
* Actively participate in company, product & process improvement activities
* To help with training of staff in injection moulding processes
* Other duties as required of the role
Experience/Qualifications:
* Minimum of 3 years Setting experience
* Minimum of Level 2 Qualification in polymer processing and injection moulding or equivalent
* Documenting and using setting sheets
* Good knowledge of various engineering polymers
* An understanding of the factory equipment, environment and processes
* Calculation of product requirements
* Health and Safety competence
* Manual Handling competence
* Familiarity and competent in reading technical drawings
* Relevant in-house or technical training qualification
* Understanding of SMED
Personal Specification:
* Effective team worker
* Flexible attitude in carrying out different types of work
* Able to work overtime when required
* Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels
* Self-motivated with the ability to cope with change within a busy working environment
* Strong positive character to motivate others
* Excellent attention to detail
* Ability to work with minimal supervision
