Teaching Assistant Opportunities – Full-Time & Part-Time | Portsmouth

Do you have a passion for helping children thrive both in and out of the classroom? Whether you’re experienced in education or just starting your journey supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), we want to hear from you!

Location: Primary school in Portsmouth
Working Hours: Full time or part time (typically 08:30 – 15:30, flexible depending on the school)
Pay: £13.68-£13.96 per hour

About the Role

GSL Education is proud to partner with an inclusive and ambitious primary school in Portsmouth, where children are encouraged to be curious, resilient, and responsible learners. We're looking for Teaching Assistants to provide essential support in the classroom and one-on-one—especially with pupils who have additional learning needs. You’ll play a key role in helping pupils feel seen, heard, and valued every single day.

What You’ll Be Doing

Supporting pupils individually or in small groups, including those with SEN

Assisting teachers with lesson delivery and classroom management

Creating a positive, nurturing, and inclusive environment

Promoting pupils’ well-being and personal development

Potential for long-term or permanent placement depending on school needs

Experience in a primary school setting or working with children with SEN

A warm, patient, and proactive approach

Excellent communication and collaboration skills
