A Secondary School in Enfield, committed to nurturing 'the whole pupil', is recruiting for a Geography Teacher.

About The School

Central to the ethos of this Secondary School is the idea of a rich and balanced educational environment nurturing the whole student. This includes academically, vocationally, socially, morally, spiritually, emotionally and environmentally. Staff at this school promote a balanced, healthy lifestyle, demonstrated through policies regarding meals, involvement in sporting activities and ecological building design.

The aim is for the local community to be able to access a range of services, adult learning programmes, healthy living advice and activities, sports facilities and out-of-hours youth activities. This is an Academy that serves the community, and the community is increasingly proud of us. Staff believe that they have a duty to respect the environment through a commitment to sustainability and bio-diversity.

The goal is to raise aspirations, unlock students' potential and work towards achieving excellence through encouraging a 'can do' culture which nurtures confident and competent people. Staff believe this can be achieved through high-quality facilities, outstanding staff, clear leadership, a positive, affirming environment, and a partnership between students, parents/carers and the school. Parents and carers are positively engaged in supporting their children.

The school aims to provide an excellent education for all our students. They do this through working hard to improve students' attainment and the standards of teaching and learning continually. At the same time, they also aim to meet the needs of the whole person and community because they understand that the whole of life is education and that everyone who is part of a student's life affects that student's understanding of life and, therefore, his or her education. In this sense, every person matters.

The ethos of this Secondary School is rooted in core values, which permeates every aspect of its life. These include valuing everyone and protecting individual rights to freedom and choice, working actively against discrimination and social exclusion, and respecting the beliefs and practices of others. The school provides a welcoming environment for students of all faiths and no faith and serves the whole community.

Equality and inclusion are at the heart of this school. Staff have a passion to include everyone and a deep desire to treat everyone equally. They accept others for who they are and respect differences.
