A leading organisation within the UK’s nuclear energy sector is seeking experienced TIG Welders to join its expanding team in Bridgwater, working on high-profile projects. The company is internationally recognised for providing innovative, high-value engineering solutions for the design, construction, maintenance, and development of nuclear infrastructure.

Welders are essential to delivering high-quality fabrication and construction services by joining stainless steel components using the TIG (141) welding process, both manually and with semi-automatic equipment. This role supports project teams by ensuring structural integrity and compliance with project specifications and safety standards, contributing directly to business and customer satisfaction.

Key Activities

Welders will be responsible for a variety of daily tasks that ensure operational safety, efficiency, and compliance with technical requirements. Their duties include:

Setting up, maintaining, and safely operating welding equipment.
Applying knowledge of metallurgy and material properties relevant to the welding process.
Understanding and ensuring compliance with applicable Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
Ensuring adherence to project specifications and quality standards.

Performing welding tasks to a high level of precision and workmanship.
Completing work in accordance with health, safety, and quality standards.
Demonstrating excellent attention to detail and focus on each assigned task.
Adhering to company rules, policies, and procedures at all times.
Maintaining good punctuality and timekeeping.
Sustaining a good level of physical fitness and resilience required for the role.
Training & Development Expectations

 Initial and Ongoing Qualifications:

BS EN ISO 9606 Coded Welding Qualification
One of the following:

Level 2 or Level 3 Diploma in Welding or Fabrication.
Recognised Welding Apprenticeship or equivalent (minimum Level 5 in Scotland).
ACE Card in Welding – Pipe or Plate.
Plus one of the following experience criteria:

A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a relevant industry, verified via a Competency-Based Interview with a subject matter expert (SME) from the management company.
OR

A minimum of 5 years’ verified experience in a relevant industry, with assessment via a Competency-Based Interview with the NNB Welding SME
