Planning Team Lead - shipbuilding

Are you a proven Planning Team Lead from a shipbuilding background seeking a new role? A career defining opportunity to join my client's shipyard construction team in Canada has arisen. The Planning Team Lead, a permanent / staff position, requires experience within a heavy fabrication facility within a planning role. The Planning Team Lead will be responsible for the updates and development of the fabrication planning processes, training fabrication planners, organizing work to ensure the fabrication facility can meet the demands of the shipyards required in yard date whilst ensuring the fabrication facility can work at optimal capacity.

As Planning Team Lead your role will involve, but not be limited to:

Ensure compliance to the safety polices at my Client
Ensure that all tasks identified by the Fabrication Planning department meet the organizations safety protocols
Develop business processes to ensuring my Client's fabrication facilities can achieve requirements.
Prepare reports for production activities and planning KPIs
Lead the development of the Fabrication schedule considering shop capacity / resource analysis
Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule activities of fabrication planners
Work collaboratively with Fabrication Planning stakeholders including but not limited to; Production, Planning, Resources, Services, Supply Chain
Maintain and issue the Plan of the Week, within the fabrication facilities
Work towards the continuous improvement of the Fabrication Planning department.
Attend/conduct look-ahead meetings prior to job start with all stakeholders, to review, discuss, amend and approve job packs
Support integration of Fabrication Planning and Long-Range PlanningEssential Skills / Qualifications:

As Planning Team Lead you will be expected to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

Academically qualified within a heavy fabrication facility within a planning role
A proven track record of 5+ years in shipbuilding or related area
Knowledge of Capacity Analysis within a fabrication facility
Knowledge of modern Shipyard Construction Methodologies
Ability to read drawings in relation to fabrication requirements
Experience in preparing or coordinating NC Information
Strong skills in organizing and managing a large number of tasks with varying priorities
Previous leadership experience would be considered an asset
Experience with Aveva, PLM software, MS Excel, Nesting Software, Pro Model would be considered an asset
Open to legal citizens of NATO Countries
