Position: Production Planner (Temporary 6-month contract initially)

Our Client designs and manufactures high performance fiber optic laser delivery systems and lasers for commercial applications in biotechnology and semiconductor manufacturing. They now require a Production Planner (Temporary 6-month contract initially) whose responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
* Schedule orders from customers to meet their requests and in consideration of available production & engineering capacity & materials.
* Plan and organise manufacturing to ensure that products are delivered on time.
* Use Materials Requirement Planning system to construct weekly schedules for each manufacturing location.
* Determine available capacity of manufacturing locations by analysis of production load, build rates and staff availability. Use capacity planning tools to support customer order scheduling and identify resource requirements.
We anticipate that you will have:
* Experience of working within a Manufacturing company
* Knowledge of using an MRP system (SAP)
* Production planning or scheduling experience
* Inventory control and management experience
You will be self-motivated, have excellent communication skills both written and oral, be computer literate, and able to work as part of a team.
