Key Account Manager – Independents

Ideally based in either the North West (Manchester/Leeds/Liverpool or Hull/M62 Corridor)

A fantastic new opportunity for a Key Account Manager to grow sales with the Independent Merchant Channel. The role will be focused on account development within Strategic Merchants and Buying Groups. This person will be responsible for developing and implementing a structured business plan by individual operating division of each account, achieving account profitability and sales target; serving as the primary account contact and providing account leadership. As Key Account Manager, responsibilities will include:

* Liaising with the Channel Director to agree and prioritise targets

* Develop account strategies in accordance with overall channel strategy by product category

* Develop account goals and business plan by merchant account

* Conduct regular reviews of business performance with senior decision makers with the business divisions

* Scope and implement a calendar of promotion strategies to drive sales opportunities

* Partnering with the relevant Channel and Product management in promotional development

* Forecast, budget and track account revenues in line with AOP

* Participate in the development and implementation of account's financial support program

* Support Operations teams on supply chain programs

Ideal skills and experience:

* Experience of consistent sales and account growth in the bathroom (or similar) industry

* Experience managing key strategic independent customers and buying groups (NBG, PHG, Fortis, UKPS)

* Demonstrable experience of regional/area sales management and delivery of a portfolio of customers

* Demonstrable experience in achieving sales, profitability, and budget goals and the ability to effectively implement sales and marketing strategies

* Strong commercial management

* Ability to effectively monitor category performance versus plan and communicate accordingly

* Ability to understand trade spending effectiveness (efficiency of promotional activity is preferred)

* Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills

* Strong presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written

* Ability to interface and demonstrate leadership both internally and externally

* High-energy self-starter as well as collaborative team player
